The Boger City Baptist Church has been generously endowed by church members who have, through gifts and memorials, established a scholarship fund in memory and honor of Kandace Helms. A $1000 scholarship is awarded to a rising college freshman (current high school senior) and a current college student.
Application Procedure
- Applications may be picked up at the church office, youth pastor or KHMS committee member.
- Completed applications, current school transcript(s) and a letter of recommendation need to be turned into the KHMS at the Boger City Baptist Church office by May 11th. Please check with the church office to verify that your application has been received by the church secretary. It is preferred that applications be typed. Additional paper may be used if more room is needed for any responses. It is most important that your responses are detailed and complete to help the Scholarship Committee better know you. Any questions should be directed to the Scholarship Committee chairperson who is currently Holly Specht at (704) 530-8249.
- After reviewing all applications, the Scholarship Committee will meet and choose a recipient. The recipient will be notified and awarded the scholarship during the annual graduation service.
